Delete Account or Data
Important: Account and data deletion are permanent actions that cannot be undone. Please read carefully before proceeding.
How to Delete Your Account or Data
All account and data management must be done through the Micah mobile application. We cannot process deletion requests via email or web form for security reasons.
Step-by-Step Instructions
To Delete Your Account Completely:
- Open the Micah app on your mobile device
- Navigate to Settings (tap the gear icon in the top right)
- Scroll down to the Account Management section
- Tap on "Delete Account"
- Read the warning carefully and confirm your choice
- Enter your password to verify it's you
- Tap "Permanently Delete Account" to confirm
What gets deleted: Your account will be permanently deleted along with ALL your data including conversations, messages, readings, documents, and preferences. This action cannot be reversed.
To Delete Specific Data (Keep Account Active):
- Open the Micah app on your mobile device
- Navigate to Settings (tap the gear icon)
- Go to Account Management
- Tap on "Manage My Data"
- Choose which data types to delete:
- Conversations: All chat history with Micah
- Readings: All daily scripture readings
- Documents: All uploaded documents and sermons
- All Data: Everything except your account
- Confirm your selection
- Tap "Delete Selected Data"
What happens: Only the selected data types will be deleted. Your account remains active and you can continue using the app. You can start fresh conversations and create new content.
What Happens After Deletion?
Account Deletion: You will be immediately logged out and all your data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Your subscription (if any) will be cancelled, but you won't receive a refund for the current billing period.
Data Deletion: The selected data types will be permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours. Your account remains active and your subscription continues unchanged.
